The whānau Ora Programme encompasses a range of programmes for individuals and whānau. The programmes are based on the principle of whānau-centredness recognizing each individual in the context of their whānau. A particular programme may focus on the child, the rangatahi, the older adult, any individual or the whānau as a grouping.
Based in the main centre of Kaikohe, Te Hau Ora O Ngāpuhi, also known as THOON, is charged with leading the hauora strategy for Ngāpuhi, serving whānau, hapū and hapori living within Te Whare Tapu Ō Ngāpuhi, from pēpi to kuia and kaumātua, whether Māori or non-Māori.
