Team Updates

🏡 Community Housing Provider Symposium

During Whiringa-ā-nuku, our CEO, Tia Ashby, and Matua Fred represented our organisation at the Community Housing Provider Symposium, where providers gathered to work collaboratively towards meaningful outcomes for whānau.

The two-day symposium offered an inspiring space for kōrero on Māori housing policies, the sharing of experiences, and the exploration of solutions to ensure our communities’ voices are represented at all levels.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Minister Potaka for his strong support of Māori Community Housing Providers and his advocacy for whānau in rural and high-needs communities. We’d also like to acknowledge Te Matapihi – National Māori Housing Advocate – for hosting this valuable event, which was rich with insights, learning, and whakawhanaungatanga.

Ngā mihi nui to everyone involved. 🧡

💜 Haumanu Whakaohooho (CST) Program

Our Haumanu Whakaohooho (Cognitive Stimulation Therapy) program is a structured, evidence-based approach designed to help slow the progression of Mate Wareware (dementia).

Recently, participants of Te Rōpū Awhiniatia gathered weekly in Kamo for 15 weeks, engaging in meaningful sessions led by our dedicated facilitators, Joan Henare and Angeline Rewiri. The program provided a warm and supportive environment for participants to connect and engage in activities that benefit cognitive health.
