❤️ Tokotoko Presentation for Matua Fred

We recently celebrated Matua Fred, our Pou Ārahi, for his lifelong dedication to serving Ngāpuhi whānau. His leadership and knowledge, drawn from his work in local government and his commitment to our people, Matua Fred, will have a lasting impact on our community.

🏡 Te Kohekohe Housing Development

As the sun rose over our community, we gathered with local leaders and whānau to celebrate a major milestone: the final stage of the Te Kohekohe housing development. This project brings 60 much-needed homes to Kaikohe, where housing is in critical demand.

Te Kohekohe is more than just housing; it offers tenants access to comprehensive health and social services, supporting whānau in every aspect of their lives. This development was made possible through partnerships with Far North Holdings Ltd and TupuTonu, transforming Kaikohe’s former RSA site into the largest community housing project in the Far North.

Our chief executive, Tia Ashby, shared how this initiative expands our mission from health services to providing safe, warm homes, addressing the needs of many whānau affected by cold, damp, and overcrowded living conditions.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us at the dawn ceremony and contributed to this remarkable project. Together, we are building a brighter future for Kaikohe.

🎥 Te Kohekohe | New Tenants

We are excited to highlight the heartwarming story of new tenants Robbie and Josie, who have just moved into their new two-bedroom home at Te Kohekohe. Overwhelmed with joy, the couple now has a much-needed haven for their young tamariki after facing challenges in their search for housing.

Taki o Autahi Board Meeting

We’re thrilled to have welcomed incredible partners to Ngāpuhi for the first time during our Taki o Autahi Board Meeting! A special pōwhiri greeted Mike Paku and Waylyn Tahuri-Whaipakanga from Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga, Roger Sowry and Glynis Sandland from Whakarongorau Aotearoa, and Geoff Rolleston and Dr. Daryn Bean from Te Arawa Lakes Trust.

Our guests saw firsthand the mahi happening in Kaikohe, including the Te Kohekohe Social Housing Development and Paiheretia support for tāne re-entering the community. We’re making strides to improve hauora for Māori, Pasifika, and beyond.

Āpiti Hono Tātai Hono Roadshow ❤️🖤

Throughout September, the Ngāpuhi Roadshow made four exciting stops, where we had the privilege of engaging in kōrero about Ngāpuhi's future vision. It’s been an incredible experience promoting our health, housing, and social services while connecting with whānau.

Catch us at the final stop in Kirikiriroa, Hamilton!
