This is a Rheumatic Fever Prevention Programme where our kaimahi go into local schools once a week to test any child with a sore throat for Strep A, to help prevent rheumatic fever
Based in the main centre of Kaikohe, Te Hau Ora O Ngāpuhi, also known as THOON, is charged with leading the hauora strategy for Ngāpuhi, serving whānau, hapū and hapori living within Te Whare Tapu Ō Ngāpuhi, from pēpi to kuia and kaumātua, whether Māori or non-Māori.
