Providing Health, Housing and Social Services for whānau in Northland
This community outreach service uses a Tīkanga Māori approach to help make healthcare more accessible for whānau who live in rural or isolated areas or are unable to get to their nearest service.
Based in the main centre of Kaikohe, Te Hau Ora O Ngāpuhi, also known as THOON, is charged with leading the hauora strategy for Ngāpuhi, serving whānau, hapū and hapori living within Te Whare Tapu Ō Ngāpuhi, from pēpi to kuia and kaumātua, whether Māori or non-Māori.
