Whānau is at the centre of everything we do. We support people of all ages and across a spectrum of needs; all of our services addressing in some way the health (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial) and/or wellbeing of whanau as both a family and a community.

Champion Story

Packed hampers filled with aroha

Christmas is a difficult and sad time for a lot of whānau who struggle to afford Christmas kai. We feel it’s a privilege to help these whānau whenever we can and especially at Christmas, so this story salutes our Christmas volunteer champions who helped our kaimahi spread a little festive cheer.

Thanks to community donations we were able to get our hands on enough goodies to fill 1500 Christmas hampers, but we thought – who on earth is going to pack all of these? We put the kāranga out and to our amazement over 100 volunteers from around the motu joined us at Northland College to spend a day packing each and every one of the 1500 hampers.

This story salutes those champions who donated and those who volunteered their time to “Pack and Stack” for our whānau. There were a lot of happy faces around the motu when we dropped the hampers off.
