Rongoā Māori traditional healing and wellness has the enhancement of Māori wellbeing at its very core. Rongoā Māori is traditional healing based in a Māori cultural context, in which understanding events that lead to ill health and its impacts are addressed through a range of culturally bounded responses that include mirimiri (massage), karakia (prayer) and rākau rongoā).

Te Hau Ora Ō Ngāpuhi is one of only 20 Ministry-funded rongoā Māori providers in the country and runs mirimiri clinics in Kaikohe, Hokianga and Kaitaia. We also incorporate rongoā Māori (native flora herbal preparations and rongoā for food) and karakia (prayer) within appropriate operational practices when appropriate.
