Providing Health, Housing and Social Services for whānau in Northland
This service responds to the Crown’s obligations under Te Tiriti O Waitangi and the need to prevent and mitigate the impacts of influenza and measles in whānau, hapu, iwi and Māori communities. The Māori Mobile outreach will continue to deliver vaccinations, whānau health checks and symptomatic testing for COVID-19.
Based in the main centre of Kaikohe, Te Hau Ora O Ngāpuhi, also known as THOON, is charged with leading the hauora strategy for Ngāpuhi, serving whānau, hapū and hapori living within Te Whare Tapu Ō Ngāpuhi, from pēpi to kuia and kaumātua, whether Māori or non-Māori.
